I learned hand bookbinding from book artist, Peter Madden, a master. I love to incorporate found objects such as tea or cake boxes, paper bags, maps and magazine images in my books. Bookbinding feels, finally, like where many of my interests – writing, visual art, reading – come together. As screens take over more and more of our reading time, the hand-bound book becomes a revolutionary object.
